The Ruffled Bubble Skirt

I love bubble skirts and ruffles, so I thought, "Why not combine the two?!"

Don’t you just love that Riley Blake fabric?

This very well may be my favorite item of clothing I’ve ever made.

Crafterhours is doing a Skirt Week competition June 21-25. I entered my Scalloped Skirt but I knew that I wanted to try one more. Nothing like some great prizes to get me sewing, even if I don’t expect to win! It’s always worth a shot and it’s always fun!

I was about to do a tutorial with it, but since I’d never made it I didn’t know if it would turn out. So I might do a tutorial for one, depending on what you think!

And now my friends, I wish you a wonderful weekend. If you are wondering why I seem like I have no life this week other than sewing (I’m even a week ahead on my Sew Through the Decades challenge), it’s because my hubby has been gone all week at Scout Camp and so I’ve had nearly every night alone to sew or blog about sewing!

The tutorial is now up! Click here to be directed to the tutorial, or on the picture below.

That is adorable - please, please, please do a tutorial! (I'm approximately 19 weeks away from having a girl to sew for, but already I want to make 3 or 4 of those skirts (love the colours you chose too!).

What a darling skirt!

I just posted to the flickr group - so new to this, hope I did it right. I can't figure out how to link back to my blog... I guess I'll figure it out eventually. Anyway, I managed something for the 1910-1919. It was fun.

Love this skirt, I also LOVE the fabric, can you tell me the name of it?? I searched under Riley Blake and can not find it, maybe if I had the name of the design.... It would make the cutest purse too, my little boys wouldn't like the skirt much!! :)

Saw you featured on U Create's blog and I think that ruffled bubble skirt is just darling. Too bad I don't have a baby girl so I can try and make something like this. I just love Riley Blakes fabric collection. I just ordered some from his collection and boy it was a pretty pink fabric. :)

I was completely inspired by this skirt! I made my daughter a bubble skirt with a ruffle at the top! I was impatient and started on it before you posted your tutorial ;) I credited you for my inspiration though and linked up from my blog post about it :)
