Changes

I had the opportunity to meet with some of my favorite bloggers over the past weekend and it was so fun!  (I’ll be blogging more about that when I have more pictures ready).

We talked a bit about shops, websites, our families, life, etc, and it was just what I needed to nudge me to finish up some things that were already in the works.

First off, I’m a .com now.  It’s lemonsqueezyhome.com, rather than the “a” before lemon because that was taken.  I had purchased the domain alemonsqueezyhome.com for a couple years but I decided to not renew when the time came around once, and now it’s taken.  Oh well.  It’s not hard to find with a search so I’m not worried about that!  The change might take a couple more days to be complete.

Second, I’m not going to be selling on Etsy anymore.  I had signed up for Big Cartel a couple weeks ago but didn’t finish setting up shop. I have now, thanks to some discussion with the blogging buddies.  The good news is that the prices are really great, and I’m trying to figure out how the prints can be emailed to you immediately.  So does anyone know how to do that?  I’m having a hard time figuring that out!

In other news regarding my shop, do you remember my pendant necklaces?  I’m done selling those, so I have a PDF file for sale that allows you to make and sell your own sewing machine pendants, as long as credit is given to me for the sewing machine design.

Third, my tutorials are finally a bit more organized into categories, though still far from perfectly organized.  I hope that helps you maneuver a bit easier!  I also added a few that were missing.

And lastly, my words for the year are SIMPLIFY and ENJOY.  As you know, I’ve stopped taken sponsors (for now at least while I figure things out with balancing everything in life).  It’s been so good for me.  I've received a couple emails expressing disappointment over my lack of blogging lately, and I appreciate that you enjoy my posts but even more I appreciate the kind responses as I’ve explained my focus on simplifying and enjoying my family more.  It’s been great.

8 x 10 Prints in the Shop

I just have to tell you all that I loved reading your suggestions about books you’ve liked, and also seeing how similar tastes a lot of us have.  Yea for great books—seriously, I love a good book.  Sometimes it’s nice to not blog at night and read instead:).  But I’ve added a bunch to my list of to-reads.  Thank you for letting me know!

I have a few new items in my shop that I’m excited to show you today.  Some people have contacted me about sewing things and selling them.  Honestly, it stresses me out too much.  I’m way too much of a perfectionist for that to work out, ha ha!  You should see the pile of reject pendants that I need to tackle and save due to bubbles forming as they dried.  So I stick with things that help earn a little more money because they take less time, plus it’s just fun to do something different than sewing sometimes!

I’ve decided to start selling prints.  The ones pictured are all 8 x 10, but I will have the option of buying just 5 x 7’s as well.  You can even change the colors to what you’d like them to be!

I think this one would be so great as a prop for engagement or anniversary pictures.  I’ve been wanting to take out my two youngest with this picture actually to show some sibling love:).  But they’ve been too sick!  So that will have to wait.DSCF4655

The sewing machine image you see below I designed using my vintage machine sitting on my lap.  Same image used for my Sewing Through the Decades Challenge.

Camera Pendants Now Available

I do have a couple tutorials up my sleeve, but I’ve been playing a lot of “Go Fish” and Scrabble with my kids, along with some Christmas shopping and Thanksgiving dinner shopping.

Tell me this…how long would the game last if your 5 year old put THIS WORD as the main word to build on in Scrabble:  DSCF3433

We played for 45 minutes!  There might have been a few made-up words in there. ;)

Thank you for ordering the sewing machine pendants!  Really, I so appreciate it.

If you are wanting to order a larger quantity than the number it says are available, please just email me and let me know and I can change the quantity!DSCF3453

I’ve added 4 more colors to choose from!  It has been updated in Etsy, but the colors are light blue, blue, coral pink, and brown.

And lastly, I worked on one more design last night.  I just searched for old camera images on Google and combined what I liked about some older camera models.  So Vintage Camera Pendants are now available in my shop as well!  DSCF3439

Sewing Machine Pendants

As many of you are trying to come up with some extra money for Christmas, I am here as well.  Those Pillow Pets are pricey (but so very cute, and my kids really want one!).

So I’ve updated my shop in hopes that I might have some luck in selling.

And to all you other shop owners, best of luck to you this season!  It’s a lot of time and work involved!

I’ve been using my sewing machine design from the Sew Through the Decades challenge to create some fun things—at least I hope people think so!

There are a few more new PDF files available for purchase for $3.50, along with my normal glass tile pendants.  The PDF files are great because you can print them as many times as you’d like.  I like to give blank cards as gifts so people will always have those on hand.

I hope you are all enjoying the start of your Holidays!  We’re already listening to Christmas music around here.  Well, when my hubs isn’t home since he thinks we’re “skipping” Thanksgiving.  Which we totally aren’t—it’s at my house this year with his family!  Yikes!

Make Do and Mend

DSCF1185

Next week I will hopefully be done organizing my sewing corner.  I’ll show you before and after pictures.  I wish I could paint the room, but it just isn’t going to happen right now—especially since the color of the walls is a nice neutral color that might be better for trying to sell the place.  DSCF1187

One of the things I did for my sewing corner was create two images to frame, that are now for sale in my shop as a pdf file.  You just print them onto cardstock, trim to fit an 8” x 10”  frame, hang it up in your sewing room, or wherever!  Perfect!

In the future I will work on different coloring for the files.  Any suggestions?
